A Birthday to Remember

This hot air balloon ride over Serengeti National Park was the capstone of a three-week adventure in East Africa with my adult son. Everything about it was well done: the early morning pickup at our camp, coffee and instructions at the launch site, pointers and explanations from an experienced captain during the flight (close to an hour and a half), festive champagne upon landing, a delicious breakfast, and follow-up pictures.

Since three of us were celebrating birthdays, the staff sang, danced, and presented birthday cakes to share--a very nice touch. It was a great way to get another view of the animals on this incredible plain. Don't miss it!
